Before I start: I've played the game in the English version, since I prefer the original German speakers often.

Well, Dragon Age: Inquisition. After the disappointment of Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3, I could here a long time unable to bring to a pre-order until BioWare has then released a trailer titled "PC players for PC players" a few days before release and convinced me from buying has. What I really liked this time, are the companions and counselors who are one in the history aside. Unlike the annoying group therapy in Dragon Age 2 this time there was not a companion whom or which I would not have liked to take. It was great fun to change the group composition regularly and mitzubekommen the resulting discussions during the adventure, and the English speaker consistently deliver a good to very good performance. In this area BioWare brings once again the full program.

The maps are designed with great attention to detail and are decorated with a wide variety - from dark swamps until the howling desert is virtually all there. This is as opposed to advertising to no real "Open World" - because then would the whole not into individual cards divided - but the scenery can leave this time really see. The maps have the largest share, to give Inquisition the flair of a AAA production.

Unfortunately we come now to the not so good part: the main story. The exciting climax this time namely place in the first third of the story. After the Upper Rogue faded to a vague threat that weiterwerkelt apparently somewhere in the background but never get anything back on the chain until the final battle disappointing, which is abgefrühstückt in about 10 minutes without any further surprises and twists. The one knows but the first playthrough not yet, and I was carried a surprisingly long time on the motivation further, so to experience a super staged moment yet as in the aforementioned climax of the story (the quest, "Into Your Heart Shall Burn"). Unfortunately enough the rest of the story never quite at this moment approach.

And then there are side quests. These can be roughly divided into three categories. First, each region has a story-driven Quest series, which is based on current events in the area - the quality of these quests will vary from "Najaaa" (eg Fairbanks and his associates in the Emerald Graves) to "really good" (the mayor of Crestwood and the History of the reservoir).

Next, there are the FedEx quests, you get static NPCs. These are all kept very simple and are tantamount that you pick up an object or wegbringt, and the conversation with the NPC is reduced to 1) "What are you still had the same kind of problem?" and 2) "I do not care." Furthermore, in these talks remains the camera at a distance, so that you hardly will notice facial expressions.

Finally, there is the "found letter" -Questen. Amazingly, dozens of people differently who left to posterity a letter. Here the interaction is so minimal that it in my opinion hardly counts as Quest. Simply click on the letter and gets a text pop-up with the content. You go to the person or place that was indicated in the letter and click again. Quest fulfilled. Unfortunately, unfortunately, the FedEx and letter-quests make up a large part of the filler, with the Dragon Age: Inquisition tried, the relatively short main plot (perhaps for 12 hours) to grab some meat on the lean ribs.

Does anyone remember at the tactical system of Origins and Dragon Age 2, in which one could his companions "if-then" give to a beautiful set rules of conduct? This has been deleted. You can decide whether companions preferred their skills or to use normal or not, that's now only. Speaking skills: you now have too few quickslots to deploy all skills learned in the fight, even if you buy as many passive upgrades that require no slot. Annoying. In general, the control with the mouse and keyboard is amazing hakelig and getting used to.

And now the bad part: the technical implementation. You can tell the game to unfortunately that BioWare was totally overwhelmed with the use of actually quite proven Frostbite 3 engine. Cutscenes bucking like on stronger PCs because BioWare a frame rate of 30 FPS forces here, otherwise the audio out of sync with the image of running because of the very console-heavy programming. Because the forced 30 FPS but often can not be maintained, then it jerky with 15 to 25 FPS to himself. Very bad.
One can the Frostbite engine with console commands instruct them to ignore the compulsion 30 FPS, but then gets mentioned audio problems.

The implementation of the hit boxes in nonhuman enemies is a middle disaster. Each Hitbox is namely - no matter what creature it belongs - only people in size. Therefore dragons in each leg have their own hitbox - they would be in the center of the kite, melee could not reach the dragon and thus also not twisted. This can be, for example, simply try to bear as long as they are fighting on all fours and does not straighten. It is not possible from the start to make a fighting bear on all fours with a non-AOE melee attack, since it is not enough to hit box for the size and shape of the model. Only go with a flank attack. Therefore, the very long Dragonlings have for example three hit boxes. Sounds strange, but is true. "From PC gamers for gamers" was probably fib twice.

And finally, the post launch support. There were six patches to date, and half of them corrected errors that were generated by the previous patch only while known bugs still cause problems six months after release. It may happen, for example, that the talks between companions no longer simply take place and the group proposes completely silent through the country. For a game that so much emphasis of course on interesting companions quite a disadvantage.

Who can ignore these problems still gets some stunningly staged moments and companions with some great dialogues that grow a fond (some more than others). At the currently lowered price can certainly strike.
