I hesitated a bit before buying this disc, even after reading the reviews that accompany it, but the end of curiosity was stronger. I liked it a lot. I had already heard a lot of music on this CD and variously interpreted, but this interpretation of Onofri / De Marchi has managed to make me squirm more than once: this is not a bad sign. Really that's all to its position in this record: just listen without thinking about how this music should be played instead and observe the effect ,; I do not think we ever know like Vivaldi had played his music and, personally, I do not care at all know. The hearing of "Grosso Mogul" RV 208, which opens the CD, is electrifying .... and it is not alone. The "effects" obtained with string accompaniment, the "blows" bow are never grotesque or irrelevant, but follow a clear idea of the performance that is what is presented: we like it or not. The soloist does not come to a happy balance with the orchestra is part of the point: what balance? Technically Onofri is very good and the accompanying complex is not far behind. The audio recording could be happier: in some passages, the cello sounds "bloated" and the sound stage lacks some details, but I never had the impression that the strings sound "loud". Well the graphics, presentation notes and packaging quality. I apologize for my French.
