Lots of light - some shade

Now the TV set: My search was a 26 "LCD TV with integrated DVB-C tuner for cable operation with cable Germany as a second unit for the bedroom.
Since I'm already satisfied Philips customer, the choice fell on this device. The installation of the stand is quick and easy. After switching on one is led by menu through the initial installation: Language, Country selection, choice of reception mode, select the cable provider. The installation is then carried out by itself, first the digital transmitter, the analog transmitter. All done after about ten minutes. The actual work and the Auwand only now beginning. There are all digital transmitter placed on the first 300 memory locations, also encrypted, from channel position 301 followed by the analog transmitter. Now you have a choice: you can create bookmarks, separated by digital and analog, and suppresses encrypted and unwanted senders. So you can only adopt stations about favorites or direct dialing (will not chronologically through CH + / CH- keys), which is to switchen impractical. The other option is to move the channel to the desired program position, and digital and analog channels can be stored mixed. This is very complicated, because the programs are not moved numerically, but must be individually "clicked" by the whole transmitter positions. This lasted about three hours, but well worth it, since the transmitters can be easily selected now and be in the order you want from me.
Image, format and tone can be adjusted easily via a "Smart Menu". This will also produce good results. The sound quality is perfectly adequate for my purposes. The image of the digital transmitter and especially the HD channels (ARD, ZDF Arte +) is quite outstanding. The analogue channels, however, are very coarse-grained and can not be improved by fine-tuning. This is a point deduction. Another critical issue is the remote control. The assignment of the keys is alright, but I feel the loud clack noise when operating as very disturbing. For this reason, even 15 EUS have invested in an "all for one" remote. Thus the problem is solved for me and this FB is to my mind even much better in the arrangement. It can be controlled so that all the relevant menus. Therefore, no further points deduction.
In summary: An excellent price / performance ratio and strong buy recommendation. Device with mostly great picture, good sound, ease of use, after extensive installation.
