I had the same lamp - a tubby, closed, white Hanging Lamp - previously a 20W-ESL (?!? Philips Tornado, also 100W equivalent at 1350 lumens ()), with which I was actually very happy, but regularly after 2 years broke. Recently I had to bridge the waiting time for delivery of TIWIN, a good-old-60W clear glass bulb inside.
The TIWIN lamp is then considerably lighter than the 60W, so absolutely no comparison. It is roughly equal to the Philips-ESL for 2 years of operation (the end was always a clear light falloff determine), the TIWIN but so far "cheating" when she almost pops your light with a much smaller beam angle on the table. Through my tubby lamp, this effect will be significantly improved, there is generated a decent all-round effect.
So please do not underestimate the viewing angle of 180 degrees, if you want also the indirect light from the ceiling!
I then draw even more points from when I really want to, because I can read product descriptions and there is clearly the viewing angle. I only underestimated ...
The light color I find very pleasant, no color cast, but still warm. The way I like it. It works anyway whiter than the 60W bulb, but even that is such a thing again. If I had a 100W bulb, which would also act whiter than the overburdened 60W bulb, right?
