In general, the game leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of unfinished business. When we see the care taken that have NetherRealms Studios on their Mortal Kombat, we were entitled to expect the same leg on this game that seemed very promising. It is not bad in itself, but many details are reminiscent of a game that was not finished on time and delivered without the finishing touches.
Yet it is full of good ideas:
- A mode scenario "scripted" (it sounds ridiculous to say, but all fighting games unfortunately can not boast)
- The fun interactions with the decor in the fighting which vary characters
- Spectacular special moves ...
In short, he had everything to be a bomb.
But they did not count:
- Really dated graphics: honestly, you'd almost see the PS2 by particular moments on their faces, it's obvious,
- An animation of rigid preventing characters to really take the fun (but also the combat system modeled after Mortal Kombat which means that, even if, in my memories, I had more fun with MK)
- Not always a lip sync at the top: the characters often speak without moving their lips and these will start to move shortly after they finished their reply
- Subtitle display to pick up: although often late compared to replicas
- A range of shots sparse for each character: we are left quickly perform the same moves (rigid) and at the same time, to tire (again, the problem is inherent in the style of Mortal Kombat, some will like)
Nevertheless be noted that much work was done on the characters and especially at the reworked design and French dubbing of very good quality even if sometimes he catches a little with the characters and situations and becomes the same time rather cliché ...
We would also have liked not to be harassed by the DLC store in full screen each time you launch the game. It happens the first few times but it quickly becomes very annoying.
In summary, if you like the gameplay of Mortal Kombat without the gore and by chance, you are also fans of DC Comics, do not hesitate.
For those who are not familiar to the one nor the other familiar and love very nervous and dynamic fighting games, I tend to advise you to go your way or wait for a price drop. The game worked, but suffers from stiffness and some really frustrating imperfections given the studio that developed the ... Damage.
