This album pushes the boundaries of the genre: the songs are very technical, convoluted and crush you like a bulldozer. Ulrich began nine months recorded the drums so the group began a point about the unique achievement of the fourth album of Metallica. Beacoup criticize the production of this album, I have to be among the few to enjoy it but it is true that here the listener is overwhelmed by the heaviness of the compounds that are sometimes a little too long. Blackened is one of the best songs Metallica as well as One: both titles alone motivate the acquisition of And Justice For All even if title is not the best of the album. Harvester of Sorrow, Eye of the Beholder and Dyers Eve are considered classics of the group and saying that To Live Is To Die quasi-instrumental title that includes only words as the last lines written by Cliff Burton before his tragic disappearance. Kirk Hammet innovates with very experimental solos but perfectly suited to the ambience of the disc. This album may surprise you at first, but you will come back so the guitar riffs are original, complex and mostly successful. For me an essential album.
