Compared to the 727 only slightly better / worse

I had been a HDC-SD66, which kept me two years good service, but I film but rarely and Scan more with a DSLR. Since the SD66 only 50i receives and I like when I was about movies also have 50p material, I ordered the Panasonic 727. This had a very good price / performance ratio and also made a very good impression. What was, however, I noticed quickly that fiddling with the manual focus via touch screen is not for me. The focus on the subject by Tocuhklick work, however (for whatever reason) not in portrait mode but only in iA Mode. Since the camera times quickly realized landscape, there was little opportunity to play with the edge.

So I needed a camcorder with manual ring. The often rated better than the 929 Sony was too expensive. Even the 929 blew my financial framework for my rare video footage. The zoom is at the 929 over the 727 only half as large, that is a pity, but I hope that the objective of 929 scans thus qualitatively better. The fumbling with the manual ring would solve Panasonic better, but I do not want to see for themselves how much better Sony has solved this, because so I would just be tempted but to take the Sony.

The stabilization has I always liked in Panasonic and shines at 929 again excellent out. Why the two buttons are top of the unit at 727 iA and stability and when 929 iA and wireless I do not know. Again, I like the stabilizer button when 727 better above. There are situations where I want to disable the stability due to tripod. For a device with screen viewfinder, where so the display does not have to be specially opened, heard the stabilizer button is actually outside of the LCD cover. But this I will cope.

A video light as the 727 does not have the 929 apparently. There is no adjustment to the manual and the light will be described as the flash above the lens, and also explained. Whether the Lowlight properties of the 929 that really rip out I doubt after my testing.

Overall costs of the 929 decided over the 727 Camcorder, namely almost twice as much. I find that really covered, but who appreciates an manual ring, will hardly get past the 929 than most inexpensive entry. Whoever takes in hand the 929, gets at least feel a superior camera in hand to hold.

As a tripod, I had the 727 opted for the low weight of the iGlide, a smaller version of the Glidecam HD1000. Despite metal floating exchange plate you also get the 929 with a few extra large washers well balanced.

Personally, I find that Panasonic here at least still could enclose a stronger battery in the 929 and the huge price difference to 727. After all, the 929 indeed a completely different class than the 727. But that is not the case and at max. 1.5h is closing with two cams. Unless one takes again vigorously into his pocket and retrieves the large battery.
