This collection is interesting in several respects. On the one hand can be found on the CDs a lot of music from the time of the Vietnam War, but also more recent titles that fit thematically to the Vietnam War. For this purpose for the title background information in a large, bonded and assembled with great attention book. The music and the contents of the book are thematically ordered (from initial enthusiasm, disillusionment about to protest, and ultimately for working) and it must have been a lot of love and research in this together tings. On an extra CD contains all the lyrics.
The songs are available partially in different or in me previously unknown versions. Particularly interesting are the songs of veterans that have arisen partly after the war and partly were still unpublished. Here you will find no hackneyed music from the period, which can be found abundantly on other samplers.
Radio recordings or recorded speeches wearing scary at the mood of the collection. The book is beautifully prepared with lots of photos and references to history.
The quality of the recordings is of course different depending on where and in what state was the starting material. But that is not at such a collection. Finally, this is a great mix of music history and history related to a particular section of American history.
Book and CDs come in a slipcase which is about the size of LPs. The CDs are fixed in a hinged case on incorporated plastic holders. Everything is processed very clean, is very visually appealing and makes a high quality impression. All texts are in English.
