With his debut Picture Book Mick starts equal times by fully. Besides sensational original compositions like Come to my aid, Sad Old Red, Jericho, and of course the two over songs on the album Holding Back The Years and Picture Book, Mick presented with the Talking Heads song Heaven, and the song Money's Too Tight to mention, by the for the music world largely unknown Valentine Brothers, also two excellent cover versions, which both me many times like better than the originals.
The album title Picture Book is chosen aptly in fact, because Mick takes us on a musical journey full of varied images of soul, funk, jazz and alternative timeless pop music, with no expiration date. A must for every music fan.
The remasterete version offers a very good dynamic. All instruments and of course Mick's voice come clear and warm out of the speakers. Five very listenable Maxi versions are also available as a bonus track on the album, and an accompanying DVD of the Jazz Festival of Montreux 1986 This edition is also included. Therefore, buy, it is really worth.
