What we present to the fifth album now here?
A very strange development, which can be observed since a few years with many artists: Alignment with a way mainstream in the mainstream (based on the chart music).
Even the cover has yet voted me very skeptical, because it still of the atmosphere very similar to that which other artists show so.
The music itself sounds somewhat bland. There are some beautiful ballads, but even the often sound as if someone else can sing (the duet with Chad Kroeger sounds very example by Nickelback but Well, no surprise there). Rock n roll I enjoyed as a single from very good (even if the title is misleading and there is only a short guitar solo. Since the entire third disc has more "rock" than offered this song!).
But this "wow I'm young and hip and doing a lot of partying and booze" image, which determines the album and runs through the entire text (well, maybe this is it 'common thread', I seek in vain) is firstly silly and secondly it will no longer fit her. She is 29 and makes re-teen music, which is no longer credible and seemed fake. Ironically, their 'hip teen music', which they are now produced with 29, a lot (which are actually incurred in Avril's younger years superficial and shallow as "Let Go" and "Under my skin" and therefore also are much more authentic than this forced " I'm not old! "music) and HAT much less to do with real teenagers than with an image that we convey the company wel- teenager and being young is much more than just wild to have fun in my eye and to let off steam (wonder if Ms. Lavigne now finally on the doll-Jugendwahn jumps) .The texts press but that's off and apart from the fact it has nothing to do with good lyrics, constantly bring swear to possible rebellious act. It depends on the use related, and this is just placed and completely exaggerated.
Moreover, I find it generally questionable how the chart music more and more focused on the themes "party, drinking and making out". The question is, why can be more and more artists to adapt to this scheme? Diversity is something else. Even musicians / singers / artists, the earlier one (at least somewhat) recognizable style had (perhaps would mention Linkin Park attached to this point), slipping more and more into the easily digestible and consumed by the masses electronics and party area. Not that electronic music in general wäre- something bad that's a pure Geschmackssache- but this constant "equalize each other," the music is interchangeable (at least from my purely subjective view!), Will always be more concise for a few years. Then bands and singers fall suddenly in a completely different genre, become worse and then talk of "development" (although that is not always the case of course, but it comes often enough) .And also Avril so it has this time caught.
The entire board is extremely disjointed, as if she had not been able to decide on a style or an own direction. Another shortcoming: A Dub Step number. From Avril ?? !! I prefer to say nothing against someone who likes Dub Step hear .... but by Avril ??! The woman who Sk8er Boi and wrote Take me away? I can only say to the conclusion that I am disappointed, and the music just yet in the background ripples for me there without really left an impression, unfortunately I do not like. The two stars are there for "Rock n Roll" and one or two successful ballad.
