.... The shadow of father and Uncle Gregg Duane is miles long. Devon solves the dilemma perfectly, as he has his own style, all temptations defiance found. Only the beautiful instrumental "Mahala" recalls (pleasantly) to the Allman Brothers Band. The title song "Torch" It's really going bollernd, show right beating! Afterwards a relaxed laid-back-feeling runs through the whole recording: convincing voice, translucent guitar playing in the classic "No Woman, No Cry" and "When I Call Home" - showy Blues in "Perfect World" culminates in the hammer-song par excellence "Mercy, Mercy" with plenty of wah-wah in the style of Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) - and the level adheres to continue at the highest level! Blues Boogie rock at its best. All this ends in the good-old-fashioned-style held "Nothin To Be Sad About". This title drops the pertinent judgment through a truly exceptional CD - Devon must now not be really sad ;-) because he has played with Torch loose in the first blues-rock league. Chapeau !!!
