Customer Review

In the late seventies, so loud roaring Punk was the hottest genre, tupierte hair to be no longer seemed unimaginable sin and bizarre and shrill not in everyone's vocabulary, the Dire Straits appeared on. Much has been written, if you (read Mark Knopfler set at performances to sound so quiet that the audience could still have a good time) to start your Pouplarität not perhaps their differences owed. I think that is wrong.
Dire Straits did something unlike many bands at that time. Just good songs, taken from real life of the band, 3 very good musicians and just the, I mean that was already in sight with the first album, brilliant guitarist and songwriter Mark Knopfler. This impressed both with the lyrics, but especially with its inherent style of guitar playing (Mark Knopfler is left-handed and but plays a right-handed guitar; he uses no Plek but thumb, index and middle fingers), which did not yet belong hitherto flowing melodies enabled, from the beginning the sound of Dire Straits.
The songs on the album are some become classics, such as Down to the Waterline or Sultans of Swing. The latter plays Knopfler still at his solo tours - I only kanns highly recommend: The first work and what still makes today from MK.
