Red City Radio (Audio CD)

Customer Review

... - Was the first that came to me while listening to the latest output of the US punk rockers of "Red City Radio" to mind. The quartet from Oklahoma City plays no typical punk, but leave very strong rock elements in their music incorporated. Stylistically, I would classify it somewhere in "Gaslight Anthems" and "Green Day", a little harder, but still very authentic and independent! A really great mix between punk and rock, in which actually should feel at home and friends of both genres.
The songs are made very simply, on unnecessary frippery was dispensed with entirely. The songs seem very "shirtsleeves" boast great and catchy melodies and choruses that burn immediately to mind and have this certain catchy.
But the outstanding feature is probably the very original and distinctive voice of frontman "Garett Dale". I have seldom heard a voice that is so dirty, snotty and rough - a right Dreckschleuder, just awesome!
The songs are mostly settled in the mid-tempo, but still come very earthy and with a lot of Schmackes therefore - in short: This thing rocks!
"? Watcha got" Already the first song, is a slap in the face, a true punk rock song that took me right away - a very strong point! While this style's also goes further, "Rest Easy" is a bit quieter, but has a very strong melody and the singing of "Garett Dale" is the song that certain something. With "Stranger" give the guys from Oklahoma City back on the gas, this title has the potential to "rock anthem" fleet number with lots of Mitgröhlpotential! In this category I would also want to necessarily songs like "Two out of three is not bad", "Electricity" and "Let me in" lane.
My absolute highlight is "In The Meantime", a right fleet number has taken care immediately for an adrenalin rush at me. This song is really energetic and goes off as "Schmidt's cat", very heavy punk and the distinctive voice of "Garret Dale" is the special flavor of this number. Ever "live" the songs of this very special voice of the front man, but this gives the songs an extra dose of toughness and aggressiveness. To conclude, there still a very soulful track that starts off slow, but back out escalated to a true hit.

My conclusion: "Red City Radio" is with their self-titled album managed a real board. The 3rd Output of US punk rock band is also their strongest so far, more rock than its two predecessors, he is likely to make friends but both genres certainly nothing to wish for.
If you like this dirty and snotty voice, is should be quiet once "Garett Dale" listen, I find his voice sensational!
