Background:
It is the year 1986 in the band BAP there was now some dispute over the further alignment. Since the album "Zwesche Salzjebäck Un Beer" Although still had high sales, however no longer diegroßartigen success of "For Usszeschnigge" and "Vun drinne Noh Drusse" came, wanted above all Klaus "Major" Heuser music more towards Radio -Main Stream (Pop) and publish with High German texts. However, this did not go with Wolfgang Niedecken and so in 1986 came in a not harmonious "Ahl men Aalglatt" album out.
After the tour in 1986 the band has then taken a break, in the Wolfgang with his complizen ventured to work a new own album, with lyrics that have been rejected by the majority of the BAP members.
Music / occupation:
"Whipping times" not distinguished with the typical characteristics of BAP. No guitar solos, no aggressive drum sessions and also not typical guitar accompaniments by Niedecken. By contrast, a lot of work with saxophone, trumpet, harmonica, keyboards and percussion. When singing mainly Kalau Keul support (trumpet) to Wolfgang, who was already in the '86s tour here, just as Christian Schneider (sax). For this purpose on drums Jan Dix (BAP 83-85), guitar. Dominik v Senger, Keyboard: Mattes Keul, Axel Risch: Bass and "narrow" Boecker: Percussion (BAP).
Songs:
Never Met Aljebra (10/10):
One of the best songs from Wolfgang! Tells about his experiences as a child, how and where he grew up, and of course from the experience in the Catholic boarding school where well known, was also a priest to it "horny" has to betäscheln children.
Leechterkette (6/10):
Tells of a young man who lives in the GDR and in the evenings often look from a bridge on the transit route to Berlin. When he sees the fairy lights of the cars, he imagines what he could not do it all in the West and get "itchy feet". (Excerpt: lure Lights, Wanderlust is burning, wait adventures he knows only by hearsay ...) Good text relatively weak music!
Vatter (7/10):
Actually the song should be a kölsche cover of Bob Dylan's "Father Of Night". But there had Dylan's record label had something against and at the end both make the text on some modified and changed the music completely. In song It's all about God (Vatter) and his party (Christians). He asked where he would be now, and what he thought about the things that happen in the world says. Assassinations, Militärdikaturen, ...
For ne Fründ (9/10):
The Joode Fründ is the Rhine, which is contaminated by an increasing number of chemical accidents, tankers, ...
Very melancholic, great atmosphere, you can feel how it annoys Niedecken.
Maat Et Joot (8/10):
Tourists in a Hanomag, which were held in Turkey for a military vehicle. Be well (Maat et Joot) ....
Will (10/10):
A super heartbreak song. Niedecken is up early in the morning in the pub and asks the host named Will yet to tap a few rounds. While Wolfgang told him of his separation and can not admit that she left him because he feels a "shot" as it no longer gets from. Niedecken voice was after a gig a little hot and just fits perfectly with the mood in the song. Besides Never Aljebra met my favorite song
Gröön En Platania (7/10):
Similar et Stollwerck Leed (Affjetaut 1980) goes to the evacuation of a green area (Platania) for the construction of a subway and parking. Green was there because the police who were there to the protesting people "put away". Great rock music, theme is of course always on (Stuttgart 21), even if the eviction Platanias is already more than 25 years ago. Some passages sung by Tommy Engel and Erry Stoklosa (Bläck Fööss)
Landplooch (3/10):
Written by the "Vun drinne noh Drusse Tour" 1982. Landplooch (plague) tells of all would-be friends, all at a forward when you are successful and you can feel it in the song, the Niedecken proverbially "on the bag" go. Lyrically OK, but not my musical taste.
Neuleed (8/10):
"You must still ens en Neuleed schrieve - Jung - because Bahl et ess ald niemieh woor, dat you e Neuleed russ brought häss" ...
A not so serious song about songs make. Even from his early days in 1977. Find the first version better. Vocally support again of angels Stocklosa, this also Zeltinger, Koster and the dead were involved trousers.
Conclusion:
Lyrically a masterpiece, unfortunately it has not managed to install these songs with the BAP occupation. I am sure that with songs like Will, Never Met Aljebra, For 'ne Fründ, Vatter and Gröön En Platania the "Ahl men Aalglatt" plate would have been a great success. So both albums Seperat are not well known, which is a pity in my eyes. If you like the songs like Station cinema, Kristallnaach, Jupp and South City verzäll nothing, can not go wrong when you purchase the album. Caution, however, it is vocally BAP, musically rather less.
