I have this USB hub to buy my Mac Mini to expand with USB ports.
There are mixed USB 2 and USB 3 devices are connected.
I can not detect any functional impairment or speed.
Also run in mixed mode USB 2/3 USB 3 devices at their full speed.

This becomes clear when 2x USB 3 hard disks that I had previously connected directly to the Mac Mini.
No difference in data throughput when operating the Hub!
Since I do not have high-speed devices that take advantage of the full bandwidth, I can not say whether the information of up to 5Gbps / s true. So far I could only max. 1.600Mbit / s reach to data transfer, whereby the function of the other device on the stroke was not affected or jerky.
The power supply is also far enough for 2x USB 3 HDD 2.5 "and 2 more passive USB 2 devices.

Conclusion: strong buy recommendation!
