Duration frustration replaced initial euphoria at MacMini

I have my 5-star review (below) now downgraded to 2 stars. The initial euphoria gives way to continuous frustration.
It would be really a great device, if it is not so extremely unreliable would run him in his main application envisaged.
It should archive films of PayTV and reliably record all programmed films you can watch as "on demand" at times.

Meanwhile my ordeal has become quite long:

(-) There was a time, there was the reception - without external influence on the whole (satellite) system - suddenly extremely poor. HD channels are no longer displayed because the signal was too weak. That turned out to be independent of the weather.

(-) Then a time Skei 3D ran no longer. Just because. Today it runs again. Also just like that. "Encrypted". All other channels of the provider ran but and the original receiver made no mosquitoes.

(-) Suddenly almost nothing more was because the TV signal switched pulsating in 1-Hz rhythm of 10% to 90%. Just before I went to get the chain saw one day, it was gone again. Just because. Still unchanged Pheripheriekonstellation.

(-) The scheduled recordings - and this is the most negative aspect and the main reason for the descent on 2 star:
you can rest assured that many scheduled recordings do not work with security. Very very many shots are then displayed to me in the film archive with the size of 0KB. These are of course then only available as a list entry and it was actually no recording made. This really is constantly the case. It is best to take only in the presence of something. Then you can control it. How often were pleased to make a programmed recording, and then found the 0kb error.

(-) The entire file organization I find disgusting. So everything ends up in the EyeTV Archive. The shedule files mixed with the recordings. And you change times the recording folder, then everything is gone, unless you manage to move everything to the right place.

The two remaining star I forgive, because the product would theoretically be really good, if it works for and because I appreciate it at least, that I may at any time so that wherever they look in our 67sqm villa on the iPad TV, even if the heart -Dame blocked the TV set and sitting on the remote control. I use both a Mac Mini / iPadmini and a Win8 laptop. On the latter the supplied Terratec runs fuss. Really bad. Optically as well as the operability. For Skei I use a Unicam engine that I had programmed.

And what should I say? 2 worlds. On the Mac, this is the greatest thing I've ever seen (once had the 3650, the Elgato looks very similar; also DVBS2 with CI; with DVBviewer). The iPadMini gets herewith at the same time an even higher value. More on that later. Full 5 stars.

Why is that? Firstly, because the installation is damn easy. Then I Gracenote registered myself during free EPG. The "intelligent EPG" is simply a sensation. Example: I shall now automatically record every scene, in which the Commissioner "Batic" permitting. Or logically explained: I can let search the EPG with and / or links to different categories.
In my example, I set the following rules to ... title contains "Totort" and contains steps "Batic" and channel name contains "HD" and it begins broadcasting starts between "20:00 to 23:" and record all results option /. Instead description contains "Batic" I could take as the category actor, but the quality of the search is usually a function of how well the data is performed by the editors ... and because the field is not always used good actor; in the description but are usually the most important actors. Since the EPG is updated daily, this list is now always up to date and running continuously.

Yet another example. I wanted time to archive the whole Skei movies. Otherwise Skei is easy / subjectively too expensive. Äniteim is good, but the HDD quite small. I wish I had now received all Paranormal Activity movies. So reprogrammed a rule. A nice side effect: I now have movies in the suggestion list, where in the description simply there was "from Paranormal Activity director". In this film, I would have never attentive. He is now in my archives (same genre).

You can add as many rules to a search. The upper limit of I do not know. My record is 5 criteria and there is definitely not the end.

I'm with the praise but not yet at the end. Now I can also create a smart playlist for each intelligent EPG. Background information: the program not only runs on my Mac but is streamed on the ipadmini, as long as I am not receiving Mac. On iPadmini can then also the film archive, see the Mac and even start (but takes a long time, because only the whole film has to be exported or streamed). To Anschits selection now are "Live TV", which already explains the name, "films", "Record List" (shows the scheduled recordings of the future), Playlist (here with me now "Tatort Munich", ie I must me the consequences of not looking out in the film archive but did directly tidy in this "sub-folder"). And also on the EPG I can look. Sorry, no search function. But if I find a program that I want to record spontaneous, I can from there just click recording ... and if the Mac is at the time and turned on, it will take up this mission. I can even be programmed via iPad while on the move a shot when I have set up so ... but I'm too stupid. Even though I did not immediately ... but later I want to sometimes use.

Thus, the 162 (Amazon) are so invested great when I consider that I have so far nowhere could archive Skei recordings so that they would have been mobile. I have a Telestar DiginovaHD +, which actually made excellent, but the films are on the external HDD gespeichtert been always in MTS format (or something like that) ... HD and 5.1, but always in GB x denomination. It was caustic when you have played on the Fantec AluPlay. The 3D video projectors has always have to struggle a bit and there was always every 15 minutes by the division of a break in the program ungwollte seconds. Now the films are therefore present in one piece. An HD film of 1: 30-2h needs so 7-13GB.

In other words, all the peripheral investments grow in value! Skei now worth right because there also run really good 3D movies ... rare, but now I can get them much cheaper than on Bluray. The iPad will be fast times used as Adhoc-TV. Sometimes fast program a recording. Now, however, the Mac must be running around the clock. Especially when one uses the interesting export function. Here each recording can be automatically exported as iPod / iPhone / iPad / AppleTV. The Elgato TurboHD stick to be good speeds (I did not). With me he now runs around the clock, because I now receiving many Skei movies. The 3D movies often seem to run at night.

For those interested, the 3D movies work wonderfully on Fantec AluPlay who is it actually not certified. Also on the + DiginovaHD had worked. I use inexpensive Acer 720p 3D video projectors.
