As my better half but has a problem with scratching noises (metal to metal), we opted for the plastic version. The benefits I would like to enumerate briefly here:
- Easier cleaning compared with a wire whisk as the flexi whisk is open at the bottom
- To get to every corner of the pot
- When stirring you get a lot of air under elevated (Whip the cream by hand goes here so easily)
- Quiet compared to the counterpart without plastic balls when using bare pots (when coated pots the difference was hardly noticeable)
Negatives:
- The plastic coating is not as easy to clean as the metal (especially with dried milk products)
We use almost exclusively coated pots and pans and had so far no scratches in the coating.
But the benefits outweigh clearly and cleaning problem can be circumvented (immediately after using in water bodies). Therefore, full credit for this great device.
