C2 - system with separate amplifiers, bass and treble adjustable separately.
Nominal Output Power (Total): 30 Watt Response Bandwidth: 20 - 20000 Hz
Subwoofer / Bass:
Product Processing comparable for both. Bass plays pleasant music at two, no droning rumble. Benefits for the C2-Sub, who plays actually not only deeply (cf.. Frequencies), but compared well toned, and acts directly. In contrast, when one thinks almost hear S330D as the built-in woofer amplifier costs a little bass volume.
Satellite / treble and midrange:
Both well finished, S330D very classy, piano lacquer, however, a matter of taste. Connection of C2 satellite with RCA plugs, the S330D with "normal" hi-fi cables - exchange against other boxes here easier. S330D satellites significantly smaller volume only about half of the C2s. Highs and upper middle clean and clear, but "lower" centers with small 5 cm midrange and dimensions of approximately 188x66x81 mm can not be displayed. Unlike the C2 satellites: With 7 cm midrange and 180x90x120 mm corpus not only heights but also the middle quite well represented. Sonically C2 total fuller and rounder.
Volume:
72 Watt to 30 Watt - S330D least louder? Simple answer: no. On the contrary, in spite of lower power is the C2 even be able to drown out the S330D! And even then, it still sounds pretty good, while the S330D only fluttering whistles on its last legs and you have to fear for the boxes!
Conclusion:
A Surprise! Although the S330D is a chic and quite workable system - but tonally the effective C2 is better, namely clear rounder sound, crisper bass and even greater volume! Those who have a little more space left, moves clearly better with the C2!
