The TP-Link router is now ready with me for two purposes:
* Mobile Internet for several devices, if you are not at home.
* Backup Solution for DSL failure or defect of my Fritz! Box.
Positive:
+ Username Web freely selectable.
+ Good help at the right side in the web interface.
+ Web interface on Custom Port also reachable from the outside including IP / subnet restriction.
+ Indication of the internal IP's, from where you can access the web interface.
+ NTP server (time synchronization) and DNS servers freely selectable.
+ Access for a large number of countries and vendors directly integrated.
+ Subnet / DHCP settings Variable.
+ Many options for wireless. Communication between wireless devices deactivated.
+ MAC / IP bindings adjusted. (With or without DHCP)
+ DMZ and port forwarding are supported.
+ Simple firewall available, expandable with its own filtering rules.
+ Static Routing changeable, ARP list of cost!
+ PIN code support for USB modem.
+ DDNS support.
Negatives:
- The web interface is available in English only.
- DDNS to function with: comexe.cn, dyndns.org and no-ip.com
- For almost all of your settings, the router must be restarted. This can be very annoying in the long run, therefore, a star less.
- The unit is relatively hot, but I know of other devices already.
- QoS available only through WAN.
- No on / off switch.
In summary: In conjunction with a USB UMTS / HSDPA Modem Router for a favorable locations where one has to rely on mobile Internet. But is not only suitable for the use of the Internet across multiple devices, also for a device, it can be very useful. Since the USB modem or the router to another location (for better reception) can be set up, as the computer.
Along with the many options an ingenious device. Absolute buy recommendation!
