Egreat R300 + FANTEC QB-35US3

The basic idea for this device is the mass memory storage for a media player Egreat R300. I do not need RAID functions, but merely masses of solid physical disk space with a minimum of connections (preferably USB3.0) and in close proximity to the player. So is the amazing little box (not much bigger than 4 stacked disks) in the TV board behind a row DVDs and is almost invisible.

To make it short: The FANTEC QB-35US3 met all my expectations! Equipped is the good part with 4 * Seagate 2TB ST2000DL003 (NTFS). The installation of the external pre-formatted by me and partly already "pre-recorded" plates just went: handle screw, push, put metal frame against flap - and runs. All 4 disks were immediately (as desired) recognized by the Media Player as each individual. A 20GB test file was copied via USB3.0 built on any in FANTEC QB-35US3 hard drive in about 5 minutes from the player. Now even adjust the fan, I now have him standing on the smallest, manual level (there are the built-in hard drives louder), and the housing was still after 12 hours of continuous use only lukewarm. All other fan speeds allow the fan to clearly uncomfortable to be loud; nothing for quiet viewing pleasure!

Why only the power connector has been added to the page, if it does all other connections are behind?

Another small drawback are the extremely blue flash LEDs indicating the bustle of the hard drives. Direct in view they are genuine disruptive; I have the FANTEC QB-35US3 now turned sideways and additionally taped the Lichstreifen with black electrical tape. Nu 'is' peace!

One more thing: originallyonly it was envisaged that power on along with the media player via a wireless socket: Unfortunately, the container does not start after separate mains power back from alone! It does not matter what synchro setting is selected - he does not do it and that would be almost an "off" criterion for this device have been. Since I always use the containers only when necessary, I can live with it, it then also manually switch. A permanent standby to the mains with an uncertain power consumption does not come to me at any rate in the house.

Despite the hard to read minuses I forgive for the FANTEC QB-35US3 4 stars because the device makes for me exactly what I bought it. It's smaller than I thought, thank adjustable fan in noise can be reduced, and, moreover, the data can be quickly and thanks to USB3.0 (previously) transmitted without errors.
