This is for me the best Stross (and I read in one package!). Funny, inventive and based both on the springs of spy novels and horror novel. It really is a trans-genre work that does not take itself seriously but does not fall so far in the anecdotal. A real treat and easy to read, without the multiple perspectives that are terribly fashionable right now. You will learn that there are secret service of Her Majesty which it has no knowledge and whose objective is to protect the Humanity unspeakable things atrocious and infernal that threat. An unlikely mixture of Lovecraft, Ian Fleming and John Le Carré, plus a good dose of humor thrown. Certainly a fashionable theme The case also with Jane Eyre or The Man with the golden torc and cinema with Men in Black - Edition Collector.
