The choice of the shape of the leaves as an identification key is judicious. The angle of the photo shooting is generally well suited to the identification. The associated sketch is the right complement of the photo. The header of each sheet contains the French common name, Latin name, family, the edible parts as symbols and cartridge giving: Plant type, size, flowering time, and flower color. Risks are identified by a label "Warning:" highlighted. Although the sheets include information on the chemical components, the "Culinary Uses" is highlighted with respect to the "Medicinal properties". A special chapter presents sheets of ten plants poisonous to inform risk of confusion during identifications. Most of the 200 species identified are mostly common in France. There is only one French name per plant, so that these names can be multiple for some species, notably due to regional habits. In this case, the Latin name allows for the reconciliation. Convenience is further enhanced by a section diagram form that summarizes fairly accurately the months of harvest usable parts of each plant. This 248-page book is the result of an important work of documentation.
