I bought the lamp for outside on the grave of my dog. A proper grave lantern I did not want to set up as it would be an exaggeration to me in the garden. After all, is not a cemetery. So I opted for this lantern that looks pretty well in the garden.
Sharp edges, splinters or the like, I have not found. The lantern is terms of size just right for smaller candles. However, I have put into it an LED lamp cemetery instead of a real candle. Everything fits perfectly.
Also, I can not see any rust spot or the like after a good six weeks when the lantern is standing outside in all weathers.
I highly recommend this small lantern for outdoor use, but also for example for a very terrace. Buying I have no regrets.
