Escalator Over the Hill (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Carla Bley has succeeded here a musical mammoth work of the very rare quality. The participation of the most exquisite colleagues helped (A listing prohibitive beyond ... ;-).
With regard to the highly individual stylistic orientation foundations are laid here. Neither before nor since could be anything summon what Escalator Over the Hill would consider standing for approximate comparison. Must also not be.
The sound-ideological diversity in any case extends through all shades of human feeling and polarized at times, but always at the highest level. So it's certainly not become a mainstream business. But all those for whom artistic integrity and pursue those who is infinitely holy, should experience a prime example of this. This plate is already mercilessly progressive and the nice thing is the liaison with the female creativity. Whew, there should be more real creators of their caliber, if that leads to such huge results! Truly divine. Comes to mind spontaneously only Joni Mitchell. A completely different context certainly, but the approach quite comparable.
Bottom line: If you really on essential and ground-breaking harbor strong interest, then this should be a revelation to her senses!
Best wishes and many intense moments that!
