Expertly - And with a few highlights

Basically shows this album from 1986 Udo Jürgens musically and by the texts in the style that is known of him since the early 80s.
Swing and big band elements ("Ladies and Gentleman") mixed with some ballads ("I want to, I can - I can, I will").
All this is not really new, but technically perfect.
The Texts?
Well, Udo varies much of what he earlier sang: The Geeks and Nerds are the really lucky ones (The opener "Ship of Fools" and "Proud loser").
"Each as he likes": Frivolous winking text and a catchy melody. Was then amazingly, no single hit.
"After all these years." A contemplative autobiographical retrospective.

The highlight of the album is undoubtedly the German-engliche power ballad "I want, I can - I can, I will" (with Sonja Kimmons).
For me one of the nicest UJ ballads ever.
(Sorry, Helene Fischer: Sonja Kimmons is clearly the better singer!)
And call would be the final title song of the album "Because of you", where once again it is clear for what Udo Jürgens live (s): For the music for the stage, for his audience.

Conclusion: Certainly not the strongest UJ album (grade in the 80 he has made more albums).
I can still remember when I first heard the album back in 1986: It crept quickly boredom. It was routine. It was a successful proven recipe that he simply repeated here.

Nevertheless: Just the two songs "I want, I can - I can, I will" and "Because of you" are so great that it is worth buying.
