Fans of the start time required to be brave.

Caveat: I know Reamonn quasi them since the tours started. When I first saw it on 30.03.2000 live as the opening act of HIM, I went for the first time of a concert and was the opening act of enthusiastic as the headline act. Shortly after, I had the pleasure of meeting the band for a gig at Dresdner Bärenzwinger - very nice guys with whom you could talk through the night. This was followed by several concerts, good conversation - and the first small disappointment when the 3rd album "Beautiful Sky" was released.
Because of their sympathy value I have always followed the evolution of the band with power and benevolence. The first two albums are still unmatched in my opinion. Sure there were also "Tuesday" and "Dream No. 7" has one way or another ballad that had the title "schmaltzy" deserves. But given the otherwise rather tight-rock musical direction of the band could be the "peaceful-hearted" recorded under the heading. I knew Reamonn for 3 years as a rock and absolutely magnifizente live band that made a cold sweat stagger from the Concert Hall. Point.
Therefore, the gradual turning of the band to shallow mainstream pop for the fan of the early days was a real stress test, which many could not withstand.
Here Reamonn have submitted their 5th studio album, and I have to say that the trend away from the particular, from the blend of power-rock and savior aura of singer Rea on stage, which could me once to inspire, and is towards ironed, beautiful instrumentalized chart hit number going to continue.
3 really good songs, there is to my mind on the album:

1. Moments like this - very nice, edged-rocking up-tempo number that impresses itself and the high driving a merciless from his chair. If the majority of the songs on the disc halfway of this quality, it would have had to stuff something really good.

2. Open Skies - This delightfully dark rock ballad touches and has no doubt that certain something. The constantly increasing drama in the song structure is really great and successful singer Rea Garvey brings finally back the tube out - terrific!

3. Serenade me - something completely different from Reamonn: Soul sounds, ranging from almost Gospel'esque. A really great and especially original ballad which does not sound like "every day".

The powerful and musically varied "Broken" deserves mention so far, it aldass just stands out from the mass of always the same-sounding ballads.
The rest moves unfortunately somewhere between nice pop song and over- or unterzuckerter ballad. Especially I was disappointed by the so furiously blasting opener "Faith," which began as dramatic and colossal in philharmonic style, then so terribly zusammenzusacken in itself.
Songs like "Million Miles", "Goodbye" and "It's Over Now" just do not go times. About the level of the input Jingles a soap opera that come simply not get out. Here I fell spontaneously the eerie experience an when I saw suddenly occur during ZDF television garden Reamonn one or two years ago - before coffee-drinking men and women beyond the 50 Brought together grandchild. For me, an unmistakable sign of the completed change of tape from the halfway free of market and hit parade forced fresh to work continuous combo young Wilder from early days through to smartly slick mothers idol.
I'm almost hurt to have the band exhibit such a review, but I do so with the hope of better things, on a musical return to the carefree early times when Reamonn slices still defiant rock and the invitation: "Let it rip, people! " thundered.
At 4 songs of 13 who know at least inspire some extent, is the bottom line for me a 4 out that correspond to about 21/2 of 5 stars. Is unfortunately no half stars, therefore it only 2. You can be the better guys.
