In the really detailed instructions can be found 13 trials that I have partly recorded in a video.
More than once the attempts to be honest have me driven to despair and I was frustrated,
so I just wanted to throw the box just in the corners.
The tests are designed so that you can continue to use the liquids for the next experiment or even should.
Before starting the tests you need additionally:
1l distilled water, self-adhesive labels, 1 pencil, transparent tape, thermometer, paper towels,
Potholders, cooking pot, stove or electric plates or a kettle, six or more jam jars with lids,
Yarn, scissors All Purpose Adhesive, saline, old newspapers, an empty yogurt cups (250ml)
small asterisk sandpaper, handkerchief, knife and a rubber ring.
Although a list of required additional things occur quite long, you will find this accessory in every household.
Perhaps a bit exaggerated, it also recommends that one should perform these tests in a room or rooms,
where not eaten or slept.
All tests should be carried out with caution, even if nothing pops, hisses or squirts!
To keep the tension I want to describe and comment on just a few attempts.
There are, as well as in the video, is not described or shown any attempts.
Experiment 1: First own crystals
This attempt, I managed after about 8 hours, I held my first own crystals in the hands,
which I keep in the enclosed treasure chest.
Experiment 4: Size Matters
This test is very lengthy, here working with the evaporation method.
A crystal of the first trial is hung in the alum solution and grow in the evaporation of water.
After only one day of alum crystal is grown.
My alum crystal or the water I have also inked a Färbetablette because I want this great crystal color.
Experiment 7: Needles of sodium
Unfortunately, this approach has not worked at the second attempt.
It wanted no needle crystals are formed.
Experiment 9: Crystal Decorated figures
With the help of gypsum and Färbetabletten and alum arise colorful figures.
It should be noted is, that's not true, the mixing ratio 50 ml of water and 80 g of plaster.
The gypsum slurry is too runny, and would never dry.
As a craftsman I have adjusted the mixing ratio.
Experiment 11: Colored crystals
After several previous attempts had me driven to despair,
I opted for the production of many colorful crystals.
These colorful crystals I have used for my Druse.
With the Färbetabletten should be handled with care and better wear gloves.
Experiment 12 Preparation of the plaster mold
Again here is true, the mixing ratio of plaster and water is not, so I had to additionally as add in Experiment 9, a little plaster.
Actually you should dig a cavity, which I partially succeeded, and press alum crystals in the drying plaster.
I decided spontaneously, I do not do this, but the crystals attach only after complete dry the plaster by spray on the walls.
After 1 day of stone or the Druse was dried, so that I could work with it further.
Overall, you can set this thoroughly recommend, but you should also keep in mind that you have to plan a lot of time.
At this point, I refer to my video!
