Finale (Paperback)

Customer Review

In my eyes, is the FINAL installment too. This fourth volume does not add much to the overall frame of the saga. I found Nora too unsure of herself facing his role (huge, I admit, but I wish that the author makes a more mature compared to other minimum volumes). Patch, Vee, Marcie Scott or Dabria seemed poorly exploited me and be much too far in history compared to HUSH, HUSH, or CRESCENDO SILENCE. There are no big rebound and the end appears a little once and seems much too simple. In short, the first part will remain the best in my eyes (and the second is not far behind). I am extremely frustrated at not having found the black atmosphere, thrilling and ultra hyper obsessive HUSH, HUSH in FINAL.
As said at the time, I struggled to tie me to Nora. While in the first two novels I've completely fallen for her, she goes here missteps and bad decisions. Ok, its role within the Nephilim is decisive and I understand that she can hear questioning of times, but aligning errors in the way it does and be so stupid, it is just incomprehensible. She lies to Patch, she knows she is going straight into the wall but she rushes headlong, she wins for nothing and loses sight of the most important people to her. In fact, I have not felt for Nora. From beginning to end, I was very detached from heroin and she could feel. I am greatly saddened to see how my feelings toward her changed. Becca Fitzpatrick was a little lost because of the way it has evolved Nora. It is silly and annoying. It's a shame.
Fortunately Patch catches everything. Haaaaa, Patch ... It has made me crack the first to the last chapter of the saga. His hyper stunning personality, his love for Nora, his desire to protect her, his charisma and his words have, once again, had the better of me and my little heart drive. It is he who carries the entire series since SILENCE sincerely. Unfortunately, I found it much too set aside. It only appears occasionally. It focuses exclusively on Nora and her little world, something that has only irritated me more. Patch failed me, that's undeniable. It's the same with Vee, too. Vee, this character made me laugh so much and who brought a breath of fresh air at each of its interventions, is virtually nonexistent in FINAL. It appears a bit here and a bit there, as if the writer suddenly remembered that she had to use it. What a desappointment! Anyway, I found that all secondary protagonists were underused. Whether Basso Dabria, Marcie, Scott, Dante or Pepper, all their appearances have seemed unnatural ... It is as if they were there "because they" had to be there and not because it was "natural" and useful to the story, you know what I mean? Everything is too steep. It's such a shame!
Side romance, this is much better. While the duo Nora / Patch was sparks before, there is not much passion in their FINAL. The thrill and dazzle their relationship that inspired me unfortunately indeed disappeared. Nora and Patch have virtually no interaction in this novel, where I was frustrated. It is only towards the end that describes Becca Fitzpatrick (FINALLY) some passages where they are found and during which Patch (haaaa, Patch) book and touches us. Otherwise, we will return.
The action is virtually absent throughout the plot. It's simple: FINAL is, to 50 last pages, a series of nonsensical conflict between fallen angels and Nephilim threatening to fight without ever doing anything. Then they talk. And they talk. And they talk. And sometimes there is a little surprise, but it never lasts long. While they are still talking. It's long, it's soft, it's boring. Furthermore, the author is really very far concerning certain revelations. "Very far" in the sense "that's so grotesque and stupid that I wonder if I should laugh or cry there." Some discoveries Vee or inspector Basso are so farfetched that I can not help thinking that Becca Fitzpatrick just wanted to finish with her as soon as possible novel. Consistency or inconsistency, that, who cares. I am so, so disappointed!
The conclusion itself overtaking a little while that the "final" of FINAL is neither memorable nor breathtaking. The suspense is missing, voltage goes down as quickly as it is mounted and things are set far too easily. I have not vibrated, I have not been stuck, I did not have tears in my eyes, I did not hit ... In short, I remained unmoved at the end of the book and the saga and that, IT is HYPER hassle.
In summary, FINAL proves to be an ultimate tome more frustrating and annoying than anything else. The album too, actually. Here we lose everything that made the charm of this magnificent saga (until Volume 3) and it's a shame. Nora tapped me on the system, Patch is still as perfect but is set aside, the secondary characters are useless and some revelations about them are completely insane. Theatre blows put considerable time to arrive and fail to satisfy us. In short, everything goes wrong. I sincerely regret certain choices of the author and I am pained to see how the saga, so extraordinary at first, has become as little involved. Nevertheless, the universe in which we are immersed (at least in the first 2 parts) is super exciting and Patch () is a hero that everyone must meet. Nevertheless, FINAL is a reading that does not conquer all, and a conclusion both disappointing and saddening to the saga HUSH, HUSH.
