In the here discussed new double album "Live At Sweden Rock" Joey Tempest comes finally as the one who he really is: One of the most characteristic and most rock singers of all time !! That EUROPE as a band long no contrived product of the music industry are more, they have the latest with their killer album "Bag Of Bones" by 2012, more than proven. Maximum gratifying that same time all three songs are played here at the opening of this album !!! Certainly in the knowledge that "Bag Of Bones" will probably be referred to in future as a milestone and reorientation of the band.
Fine here is the atmosphere! Visitors to this concert seem very comfortable knowing that EUROPE is not only a world-class hard rock band, but to some extent also Swedish music-cultural heritage, which must be duly honored. Respect and appreciation from the visitors can literally feel. And at the end of "Not Supposed To Sing The Blues" (Title 3) speaks Joey the few words that have the message: "We come in peace" !!!
And not just Peace is omnipresent here, even the pure Hard Rock is it! The EUROPE-guys play fully supergut and free. The sound comes full, but unfortunately not very well mastered. Joey's voice is represented perfectly, fully in the heart of the action and extremely distinctive, just like you want to hear it! Well come, played John Levens punchy bass and super, and the keyboards of Mic Michaeli, who, if required, are strongly since. Ian Haugland on drums drumming on super, but might sound technically concise and thunderous purely mixed his (it being noted here that plenty of overdubs were purely played). Part of questionable quality, the mix of John Norums guitar !! Too often his hammer game disappears into the background (although many overdubs are purely played here .. had)! There would have an incisive rhythm guitarists have needed the support John! Just imagine a Kee Marcello would have been in addition there ... Whoa !! Was not unfortunately. But thanks to John's world class he rocks us solo into the ground!
What in live version really is always mandatory in heavy rock albums, they just have to be played loud! Just as they were taken have to hear it too! This is true more than ever for this album! To get into the true enjoyment of food of this album, it is necessary juice! But then it satisfies completely !!
