I must say that I did not know what to think of the theme of dreams for an erotic romance, except that it allows for full of fantasies and dare much in eroticism. Well here Sylvia Day managed to avoid falling into excess, certainly we are in the dream world at the start but it is as long as we have unbridled sexual situations and out of the ordinary. On the contrary I would say that the author of this perspective there remained on vanilla sex but by blowing a personal touch that is scorching and burning sensuality able to ignite us.
Eroticism is the hallmark of Sylvia Day and strength, it is a subject that control, it has the art of how to make hot sex scenes that could otherwise be bland. And here is the vehicle eroticism to this romance that is set up rather dramatic way.
We have two main heroes: Aidan a guard who protects the dreamers of nightmares for many centuries without actually discuss the orders until Lyssa meeting which will wobble all its certainties and will result in an all-consuming passion.
Lyssa when to her since childhood is a woman who feels she is at hand because of his sleep problems and yet remains strong and soft. Aidan will be his salvation before it tilts, it will bring her the peace she no longer has long known in his dreams ...
The two characters that the author has created are not being psychological complexity models but they make their effect. One can not help but feel empathy for their relationship that seems impossible as coming from two different worlds, they will arrive either to get a place in the world on the other? One question that will be answered in the other volumes I think like many others who come to As.
Regarding the story, initially it seems relatively easy but As the author introduces elements that complicate the plot and gives us more desire to learn more. This set up makes great tome to erotic romance but the action does not mean neglected. By cons I should say eroticism really holds a very important place in the story sometimes too much so ... Moreover one can wonder if the author has not lost to the detriment of eroticism the story itself.
For a first volume, I find it way I would have liked less erotic and more action but after all Sylvia Day excelling in this style can not hold it against him. The characters have not finished their adventures and I feel that the next book promises to be more exciting and give us action.
