Dave Grohl passed the age of surprises. It is probably too old to go on innovative territories and that's fine. What is more surprising, however, is the freshness that emerges of the latest installment of Foo. While the latest albums remained pleasant but sometimes seemed to repeat itself somewhat, Grohl and his cohorts show a big fishing on their last drive. Apparently invigorated by the excellent twin that was 'Skin and Bones', the Foo Fighters sway us a dozen compounds smoothly strung, always on the same framework but oddly effective. This is particularly the case for the single ('The Pretender') or the excellent 'Let It Die'. To put all hands of fans ... and others.
