I'm a big fan of the late American Recordings, and just felt like me a little bit to deal with the early work of the Man In Black. And that, of course, best known for not sooo much money. And please, no "Best Of". I hate something like that. So just opened his eyes and quickly came across this edition here.
After I have quite good experience with the jazz-portfolios from the same home (see my other reviews), ichs simply dared times. And lucky.
What was on offer here is really strong. All CDs sound excellent, perhaps not absolute Remastering state-of-the-art (if one can speak in remasters of "Art", but that's another discussion), but with "junk" that has nothing to do here.
The albums are, after all, what I know, completely, and even been supplemented with some Sun and Columbia singles. So you get 4 brimful CDs with early recordings of a great artist.
Unfortunately, lacking any extras like the original cover or liner notes, further information on the music (occupation etc.) are also not available. This is a shame, but not change the fact that contain CDs easily in vast quantities of music history. OK, yes, would very reason would have been a nicer presentation great. But let's leave that aside now times.
To me, that are here 4.5 stars upgraded to 5, given the price and spin my intention (see above), which is fully satisfied with this edition.
Fans of Deluxe Editions but should leave it alone. And the conscience naturally arises also, finally, Real Gone Jazz have paid a penny for the rights and legitimate at all only because of the gray area in the law be to publish these CDs.
But they are just legitimized. And love Columbia, did you get elsewhere already ne whole lot of money from me, so it look to me :-)
Included are: Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar (Sun, 1957), Sings the Songs That Made Him Famous (Sun, 1958), The Fabulous Johnny Cash (Columbia, 1959), Greatest (Sun, 1959), Hymns (Columbia , 1959), Songs Of Our Soil (Columbia, 1959), Ride This Train (Columbia, 1960), Now There Was A Song (Columbia, 1960)
By the way, I find that this box raise for actual vinyl lovers like me, the burrow flea markets through the mud to small pieces of gold, a great investment - so you can take your time to time to find at flea markets a inexpensive specimen when one because of a place - the music can be seen on the silver pieces as long enjoy what I call. And if you loved the black panels then found that CDs come with the car stop.
