Now us is quite excellent live recording from 1981: on 24.July played a gig in Blackfoot Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. The band rocks while going so so, as if there is no tomorrow. Ranging from a merciless "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" on "On The Run" and "I Got A Line On You", magnificent versions of "Every Man Should Know" and "Fly Away", the neckbreaker "Road Fever" to the final with the anthem "Highway Song" and the ejector "Rattlesnake Rock` n` Roller. The band shines just so full of power and playfulness. In comparison with the later slightly expanded version of the Live blockbuster "Highway Song Live" shows the set list from Fox Theater Atlanta fortunately also 3 songs that are not on "Highway Song Live". "Too Hard To Handle", "Fox Chase" and "Searchin`" The only fly in the ointment here is the lack of the classic "Good Morning ".
Soundlich has some drawbacks compared with "Highway Song Live". Quite as clean and punchy the radio recording is not. Sometimes it all sounds slightly washed out - because you missed something the intricacies while listening. Nevertheless, everything is very good to hear, and the thing actually makes fun.
Conclusion: Fox Theatre Atlanta 24-07-81 a damn strong live recording from the heyday of Blackfoot from the archives has emerged. Only the better sound quality and respect for the Abräumers "Good Morning" make "Highway Song Live" even better. Essential for Blackfoot disciples and fans of hard played Southern rock. More please!
