It's just fun and the controls are very good (Xbox 360 GamePad).
But why I am writing this review is the presentation of the Ultra Edition se.
The actual CD cover is in a Papp "slip", which can be opened at the front. There, you can see a couple of test scores of various magazines and a pretty nice picture.
When you open the CD case, to a the game disc, the activation code for Steam, and the manual / Sketchbook / comic book (all in one), 2 Postcards (Meat Boy & Dr. Fetus as motifs), which presents Faltposter (Meat Boy as a motif) and a small map of Peta.
The manual is qualitatively quite done very well, only the "Meat Boy Mini" comics are generally at least, blurred printed very small and with me a bit - which means that the text in the small sketches are not always really easy to read (the Rest is readable).
Unfortunately, there is a "major" complaint about the manual itself and that the content is written completely in English. (This should have been for a release in Germany still like to customize - is mainly because the game already released from 12 years).
Last but not least I would like to say a few words to the content of the CD, because Team Meat has to packed a few small digital freebies to disk.
- 4 short videos (including trailer and a video of a 3-year-old girl who tries to SMB)
- 2 wallpapers in different resolutions
- Character Art / Warp Zone type (very nicely done)
- A few photos of the developers
- A folder with sound effects from the game
- 2 "CubeCraft" images (Super Meat Boy & Dr. Fetus as Faltfiguren to print)
- The Soundtrack
There is the soundtrack even a small criticism:
Unfortunately, the CD 15 tracks of the soundtrack (which includes a total of 34 titles) available. Added to this are 6 pieces, which were played on a piano.
For anyone who wants to listen to the soundtrack in full length (about 1h40min), I recommend buying on DB SoundWorks.
The bottom line is to do with the purchase of the Ultra Edition absolutely no error, as it contains a lot of nice little things.
PS: Incidentally, there are still a turning cover, showing a very nice Super Meat Boy Artwork by Dave Rapoza.
