a few weeks ago have been able to acquire the LG 34UM95-P for a great price in the Blitz offers. With the monitor I have a very long flirted because I can operate both my desktop computer and my Macbook Pro it without having to swap large keyboard, mouse and other peripherals.
But we come times to monitor itself.
The technical details I will spare you now, because those who know they can for this monitor are interested in technical details probably by heart;)
Packing:
The monitor comes in a huge box, which optimally protects the product. Since rattles and shakes nothing in it. Everything makes sense stowed so that nothing can press on the panel. Very good!
Tip: If possible, the monitor with two persons should be unpacked. Alone it is as well, but is a bit awkward due to the size ^^
Processing:
The monitor's workmanship is very good in my model. Gaps are all equally, no creaking, no twists (what you might expect at such a size) and also the base is very solid and looks while still very elegant.
Assembly:
The monitor can be mounted in two heights on the stand, which only makes up but a difference in height of about 2.5 cm. That's definitely not enough!
Is mounted to the base with two screws on the monitor and then a shutter is clipped on it, which hides the screws and also still provides a convenient cable management. (If the right of the PC monitor is ^^)
Alternatively, a 100x100 VESA bracket to be mounted. Practically this, there is a protective film on which the surface is intended to protect on which the Vesa mount rests against scratches. Here was thought along by the manufacturer. Toll! :)
Ergonomics:
As already mentioned in point mounting, the screen can be mounted only fix in two heights. Those which the highest level is still too low, either a book or similar inferior, or are planning for an 100x100 Vesa mount out.
The monitor can be more effort and additional holding the stand with tilt a little a little. With optimal height, the tilt angle is sufficient.
A pivot function and the option to turn the monitor to the left or right is not given.
Commissioning:
In order to obtain the optimum picture quality, this monitor via Thunderbolt or DisplayPort cable has to be operated. The latter is supplied. However Thunderboltkabel must be ordered separately!
Sure, you can operate the monitor also via HDMI, but no 60 shots per second at full resolution then support of 3440x1440 pixels. For the range of HDMI is not enough (age HDMI standard !!).
So in short, connect power, DisplayPort cable off and away you go :)

In addition, I have a USB 3 A -> B cable connected (must also be ordered separately!) To utilize the built-in USB hub. USB keyboard and mouse attached, and a USB 3 SSD.
I use the monitor now with DisplayPort input, so I can keyboard, mouse and the SSD use calculator on your desktop.
I close the monitor via Thunderbolt to on my Macbook and exchange on the Thunderbolt input menu, as keyboard, mouse and SSD are connected to the Macbook and I can work with the same peripherals as the Macbook on desktop PC. That's the way it has to be! :)
Service:
The monitor can be operated on a five way directional pad, which navigates through a very intuitive menu.
Here you do not have much to write, good solved!
I would only want a button with which you can immediately switches through the various inputs.
Image Quality:
I run no professional photo and video editing, but the monitor is well prepared for these purposes. It covers more than 98% of the Adobe RGB color space from and can be calibrated with a colorimeter hardware side. Something can be found usually only in expensive professional monitors!
But even without hardware calibration is the image of the monitor very well. I have only slightly reduced the brightness and otherwise nothing changes.
Halos can be seen in all-black image easily in the bottom left corner. As I have had seemingly lucky because there are many reports of larger or multiple atriums.
For the gamers among us: The monitor is definitely the gamble! A precondition is a correspondingly powerful graphics card! With my ROG MATRIX GTX780TI-P-3GD5 I can play loose Battlefield 4 on Ultra and befeuer besides still a second Full HD Monitor with Teamspeak, VLC, etc.
Schlieren or bringing so far I could not identify. Here I react as very sensitive. From me, saying a clear recommendation for any gamer!

Conclusion:
These are a very good but also a bit more expensive monitor. One should however not ignore the fact that you, in effect, a Thunderbolt Dock gets here with this! Sensible Thunderbolt docks are also to get only from 180 upwards.
Accordingly, I find the price okay and can monitor anyone who likes to make time video or image processing and much space. One has definitely !!!
A maximized on my Full HD Monitor window acting on the LG quite lost when it pulls over. Am always thrilled how much space you have.
From me, therefore, a strong buy recommendation!
