Customer Review

As it is now, then, the last album of Unholy! As "Altfan" I was initially always very critical of the "transformation" of unholy and everything that happened after 2010. From "city lights" I was extremely disappointed. Meanwhile, I have resigned myself but really with the whole thing and am now also much more tolerant than they were two years ago. I stopped to think in drawers and hear now really everything just sounds good, completely regardless of whether the pop or death metal. I have to admit that life is much easier and more enjoyable if you do not obsessively and everything puts himself above all upsets in drawers. Accordingly, it is me now not really matter whether the count now makes pop or even hit. I've learned to live with it and do not sound bad songs indeed essential. It's a different direction than before, but the songs still are but good and if you can accept it, then that's fine.

"City Lights" I was still very disappointing and I see the album is still considered small "blip", even though it had quite a few good pieces held. I got the new album therefore over once skeptical. "Time to go" has nevertheless convinced me and the auditions for "mountaineers" have aroused your curiosity. I eventually get to the album for Christmas and wanted to see if maybe one last time to convince me the count.

Ahead he said, the songs on this album would be the best that he has ever written. Is that correct? In my opinion, not after. The album is not necessarily bad, but there are, I think, at least, no real highlights. No earwigs. No real "hits". I also find that the songs "On the Moon", "fire angel", "mirror image" or "The Story of Us" in no way come to a level of songs like. Because they are worlds apart. I also find the successful album "Grosse Freiheit" much better than "mountaineers". The problem with this album is that hardly a song really stands out and gets stuck. The "Loudness War" this production makes the sound of the album, unfortunately, fairly "uncomfortable". The production sounds very unclean, much too thick and too bassy. As the two predecessors were really pleasant to hear. The demos on the second CD sound as well as significantly beneficial in the ears, because they are not so overloaded.

The following is a brief assessment of me on the individual songs:

01. The Mountain - Mir takes the beginning a little too long. Until you actually perceives something, it takes a few seconds and you get the impression that the song would not start. In direct comparison to the previous intros but I like this one even the least. No comparison to "The Sea" or "The Light". However, I find the chorus towards the end of the song very nice - 3/5

02 dropping down to one - The electric guitar nice but really the skin of a whole song not from the stool skin purely and the chorus is very cool, - 3/5

03. Time to go - The single, which was known in advance. In my opinion, the best song on the album. The melody is very beautiful, the song goes well in the ear and is fun, super - 5/5

04. The wisdom of life - the song itself I find actually quite beautiful. The chorus is super catchy and good. Unfortunately, the Count in the verses not very creative and simply lined up together proverbs. I realize that this is the meaning of the song, but the verses do not convince me anyway. The chorus, however, as mentioned, very nice - 4/5

Me but not with text Beautiful sad content, convinced even after repeated listening - - 05 Between Light and Shadow 2/5

06. Fortunately for life - skin me also not really socks off, not very catchy, invites not to often hear a - 2/5

07. As in the good old days - Beautiful Song, is fun, going well clean - 4/5

08. Everything has its time - I like personally very well, the chorus is very beautiful, but unfortunately the rest is missing that "certain something" - 4/5

09. Echo - unfortunately I am not convinced, there is not really hang with me what - 2/5

10. Meinberg - droning somehow even without climax to himself. Very nice song, but nothing really stuck or catchy - 3/5

11 Gold Rush - For me one of the best songs on the album. Keep up the mood would also fit well on celluloid - 5/5

12. Held for one day - not bad but not outstanding, skin-not necessarily me off my feet - 3/5

13. Walk in the Clouds - Beautiful Song, only sadly lacking here again a real highlight - 3/5

14. We are the trailblazer - Strong song, only the chorus does not convince me so completely, yet well - 4/5

15. Hand in hand - Pretty good for the last song on the album (except for the outro), but again hangs back nothing, not a milestone - 3/5

All in all "climbers" an album that is "okay". The Ausrutscheralbum "city lights" is far exceeded, that is clear. But to milestones like "Grosse Freiheit" or the older albums, the new not build, even if I would have liked and I honestly was very excited about it. For the last album I would have liked a bit more power and especially more hits. But if they are the best songs for the Count that he has ever written, it was granted him. There are his songs and when he is satisfied with it, then it fits yes.

For me, the album is more than a good average, but certainly not a milestone in music history and certainly not his best album - my opinion.
