"Mezzanine" is a monster, the body and soul in a sucks up, spits out, but not to be infected without him and you can not leave out of this experience.
In my eyes it is the Massive Attack is ever a modern and uncompromising work that left even when the tape tracks (Andrew "Mushroom" Vowles left Massive Attack shortly after the release date), riddled by about songs.
The opener "Angel" with its distinctive bassline and sluggish drums is one of the best extractions 90 and draws an equal under the spell of this album.
"Risingson" there before "Dream On" it says - great song. About this you stumble to "Teardrop", the probably most famous song of the band. Pure beauty, which lends her voice Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twin. Here is a little quieter, catchy to the point, but you must catch only brief because "Inertia Creeps" demands your soul - and they are willing ago.
It sounds and you even breathe deeply in and out, while the chilling "Exchange" one caresses the ear canal before "Dissolved Girl" you deep tears back down. Sara Jay fascinated here beguiles you, you weigh in safety before the distorted electric guitars show up and you neither himself, nor can perceive its environment.
But then you come to him and listen Horace Andy, "Man Next Door" is one of the enspannteren numbers (albeit with a critical background), in the tradition of "Protection". Also "Black Milk" takes its place there. Again Elizabeth Fraser contributes the vocals - big cinema!
The title track again promises uncanny ... Especially Del Naja seems almost mesmerizing - the trip continues.
"Group Four" then acts almost as the quintessence of the album: the clear voice of Fraser, the haunting of Del Naja, guitars, impenetrable soundscapes ...
Man from drifting, but then again it is Horace Andy, the back gets you into the here and now. "(Exchange)", previously an instrumental works through the song again quite different, relaxed yourself, you dismiss - one is at home.
Class, terrific, great - there are dozens of superlatives I could use here now, but none of them is "mezzanine" do justice.
Admittedly, compared to its predecessors, it is bulky and requires a great deal from, but who gets involved on this album is no longer evade and has a priceless treasure in his shelf.
