Ágætis Byrjun (Audio CD)

Customer Review

It all started with Vanilla Sky.
The soundtrack to the film blew me away. Sigur Rós is on the soundtrack. With Svefn-g-Englar, the most famous piece of this plate. I thought I wanted to get to know this band better times and bought "Agaetis Byrjun". I think I do not spent money never happened meaningful.
Svefn-g-Englar knows everyone. Silence in the ocean. Blue. Man swims truly in music, you will be surrounded by it. In Starálfur go to the surface. Towards the sun looking. And if you have the Starálfur Strings heard at the end, you know what it looks like in the sky. Flugufrelsarinn is cool as a winter morning. Nebulized. Mysterious. At Ny Batteri to Jónsi's vocals to the bass line like a snake wrapped. The sound is more dense, to the explosion at the end. Then comes the peak of the incomprehensible. Hjartad Hamast. Madness. This song is epic, great and sublime. In Vidrar Vel Til loftarasa Sigur Rós is based on a unique melancholic mood, which they destroy in the end with violins. With Olsen Olsen and Ágætis Byrjun happens now rather quiet. The finale of the album with Avalon has something gloomy, interesting.
A pearl of European music, from the cold Iceland.
