The SEL-16F28 is a good complement to the commonly provided standard zoom SEL-1855. At parties and other festivities with mostly dim light you learn the additional diaphragm (2.8 compared to 3.5) value, just as the slightly larger recording angle. The lens records slightly less than the Standard Zoom (at 18 mm), but can be seen at maximum aperture vignetting in the corners, so only four stars. When hiking and mountain climbing one quickly appreciates the very short height and low weight.
