And so she recorded again after the well-known scheme her 4th album:
Blues, very rocky, very dominated by her brilliant guitar playing, driven by powerful drums and bass.
In addition, their rough, smoky voice highlights the bluesy sound.
The result is a blend of gentle ballads (Tried And Tested True, Shiver & Sigh) much midtempo and agree a few punchy faster Blue pieces - overall balance and consistently pleasant place.
But that was the recipe of last albums: Lecker Earfood, but you do not hear much news. Many pieces sound for me 'known'.
Why not a little more soul in his voice at the slower pieces, or something more subtle guitar solos? Maybe should the 'Running System' but are a little overworked? Recognition features are important (voice, style, etc) but do a few new ideas always good.
For me a good blues album, but very similar to its predecessors - thus: If Joanne Shaw Taylor is nothing new!
Maintenance good Bluesman's food !!
