Optics / haptics:
The design of the console is styled modern and decently. It fits very well in my technique Park and is hardly noticeable. The cabinet surface is neither cheap nor high, going for a console perfectly okay. Well, I think that the hard disk can now change more easily than with the PS3 because of the housing part in piano lacquer, can push aside simply and so frees the access to the hard drive cage.
The connections of the console are somewhat hidden by the design, so that the appearance is not disturbed, though the USB ports are easily accessible and also the slot-in drive does what it should and is barely visible. But even here there is to complain about. Front-USB are indeed useful if you sometimes just want to connect what, when permanently connected devices 2 additional rear USB would be better. Unfortunately, that was about a problem of PS3.
The controller was last revised significantly more as the transition from DualShock2 to DualShock3. It is wider and is now better in the hand and is therefore now more big hands made. It feels even more so delicate and shaky before, but makes a good impression. These problems with the battery, I did not, partly spoken of 3 hours duration. For me, the batteries last 10-14 hours of play without any problems. If you follow the simple rules of battery usage (fully discharged the first time and again fully charged), you will not have any problems. The rubber coating on the sticks seems not yet to be solved for me.
MENU:
The menu is similar to the XMB of PS3, was only slightly erschlankt and now works on several levels. I do not like so completely, since I can not really personalize it. Man is partially zugebombt with information that you do not need. I do not know who received which trophy and which has viewed video.
Some settings I also distributed a bit illogical and one partially seeks for the correct setting a wolf. That will hopefully be further improved.
POWER:
I do not want to come up with the performance data of the PS4, which are well known. So far I have allowed to play the following games:
Assassins Creed 4
Crack
Call of Duty ghosts
Tomb Raider: Definite Edition
Outlast (PSN)
All games show already visibly higher quality, as with the PS3. They run smoothly and in 1080p, which looks very good. The PS4 adheres also a few processors free to manage only the video recording in the background, for example, the downloads in the background. Thus, unnecessary power is required from the main processor at any time. The performance in the menu is accordingly very well and smoothly.
As evolved the quality here, time will tell, I'm curious. Since infected definitely still potential and there will be some surprises.
Sonics are not news per se to expect, except that here as well a dedicated sound chip is used, thus falls even here the burden on the main processor off and are more tonal variety. So far, I already notice a clearer sound profit, just in terms of dynamics. Since the power now goes to the sound chip, you will perhaps get in future further increase.
EQUIPMENT:
One of the downer. It was not adopted by the predecessor console Much. For example, 3D BluRay, CD playback, CD ripping, DLNA, storage media to the hard disk. If the but used at all? Not at my place. My TV can DLNA, so I need not turn on another device. I have an extra BD player that delivers a far higher quality. And also a CD player I call my own. These things I have therefore not important, which is why I do not miss so painfully. But who is the console as a kind of successor to the PS3 on the shelf and the functions can not handle third devices to the downside should be aware.
What bothers me more is that you have installed only one 500GB HDD here. My current 4 Games have already taken 112GB. Plus the game "Outlast", which I got for free from the PSN, which further 9GB swallowed. There's not much room up, which is why I opted for a larger HDD. 1TB should be enough, I still decided yet for an SSD + HDD from Toshiba, which the performance still improved one iota. It should be noted here, to take only one hard drive which is a maximum of 9.5 mm high. 7200Umdrehungen per minute should probably have led to problems, as well as more than 1.5TB.
CONCLUSION:
All in all, you will not be surprised. The performance has grown significantly and more than just the controller one has dared finally to the ergonomics. The console is advertised as a gaming console, and therefore has some losses, need to make in terms of equipment. I do not mind that and the console makes a good figure. Only the small hard disk can be an obstacle, which makes the easy exchange but betting.
