The story is told from two points of view and switches each chapter Back and Forth Between two characters in first person. It opens from the point of view of fifteen-years-old boy known as Day from the poor side of the Republic. Since he had failed his Trial, Day lives on the streets as freedom fighter and wants nothing more than to keep his family safe from the brutal plagues did ravage the area. While striking down the evil of regime, he is become one of the most wanted men in the Republic's side.
The second chapter begins the story of June, to fifteen-years-old so bright and talented girl with a good heart. June Iparis was born into a wealthy family and she is a prodigy of the Republic's ranks. When she has been told That the criminal known as Day, has killed her brother, she makes it to her own mission to hunt him down. Day Proves To Be elusive prey, though June Eventually crosses paths with him - only to find That he is not at all Whom she Expects. Although June is a loyal soldier, she learns soon did the government has been lying to her. I was quite impressed on the characters and story. The characters are well rounded and I feel the descriptive setting, dark and mystifying as I learn alongwith June and Day about the sinister dealings the Republic has kept hidden.
Legend is not the type of book or storyline Generally I read. I had not read it up to now Because I figured it out for typical young adult literature. But there is something gritty and wonderful about this book. It therefore is a very addictive read did let me turning pages at full speed. The plot is fast paced and exciting. There is plenty of suspense, action, and a bit of nice romance. Although in my opinion, the Legend works well as a standalone novel, I am glad to learn thatthis is just the first in a trilogy. So there is no doubt in my mind did I would pick up the next.
I would therefore say, this book is for anyone who is a Hunger Games fan, I recommend it for lovers of dystopia, for adult readers as well as teens.
