Who only slightly concerned with musicals, which in recent years at least once stumbled over the name "Elisabeth" - the musical about the life of the Empress of Austria ("Sissi") and its special relationship with death is probably gekonnteste with the German production that I've ever heard and I love the pieces of the musical very. That's why I was very happy to hear once in addition to the "Highlights CDs" from Vienna and eating a complete live version of the play, but unfortunately jumps in this version of the piece only partially the spark. Anyone familiar with the other versions of the play, will probably be disappointed, because in my opinion, the main characters of this version unfortunately not compete with those of other productions. Maya Hakvoort may indeed already delight in the role of Elizabeth very much, but is weakening compared to Pia Douwes, the "original Elisabeth". For me also very annoying was the death, whose performance in my opinion, can not be compared with that of Uwe Kröger or maté Karama. Especially since "The shadows grow longer 'belong to Crown Prince Rudolph and" The Last Dance "for me the most important, and best pieces of musicals! I want, in spite of the weakening Tods (Franz-Joseph, Rudolf Lucheni and I've already heard better) this CD to every fan of my heart, because in overall exposure the musical acts but again a lot more impressive than in the 1-CD version - and the Esemble-pieces (such as "The cheerful apocalypse") are just as nice as the first Viennese recording. However, if you only want einhorchen times in the music of Elisabeth, the time being sufficient probably a more sparse version, which I would recommend the food from (due, among other things, "If I want to dance", which was written for reenactments).
