For ordering and delivery process, I regret something negative Attach: The manufacturer seems to have a delivery problem, at least I've waited almost three weeks on the shipping, which is pretty disappointing. Just when you ordered from Amazon, you would expect a fleet supply and would quickly get started with the installation and do not wait long.
But when I finally held the bolt in hand, I was thrilled. Ultimately, a very simple but just as effective idea. Latches are quite small and unobtrusive, but worked hard and stable.
The special shape of the latch to a number of mounting options can be implemented. In my case I have the brackets installed in the soffit for one right- and a left opening window. Latches sit so hard and strong that I can very well imagine that the semi-professional burglars while trying lever (Forcing is loud police counseling the most common intrusion method) gives up, exasperated. To achieve a pry einbrecherischen success by pure, I think, with a stable mounting of the bolt fixture, very unlikely.
I summarize times the main pros and cons from my perspective together:
Pro:
+ Very stable and heavy product / lever attempts are likely to remain unsuccessful
+ Traps optically negative eye / very unobtrusive (though what the mechanical burglary protection can also be a disadvantage because recognizable fuses have a deterrent effect. But I also want to live pleasing and it is not to look from the inside like a maximum-security prison)
+ Closing free, so no embarrassment / loss of the key possible
+ A lot of different variations for all kinds of windows and doors
+ Easy and quick installation
Cons:
- Unlike some backups from ABUS or Burg-Wächter not lockable. This means in theory could the burglar hit the disc, remove the bolt and further levers (if the window is secured with a lockable window handle, otherwise it could simply pass through it and open)
- Unfortunately, the mounting hardware is not harmonized with the quality of the bar (there are no plugs in, must be obtained separately and the screws have me high also not convinced).
- Relatively high price for a small piece of steel
After weighing the pros and cons I've decided to save me two more windows and a patio door with the bolts. In my view, a buy rating. The manufacturer, however, I would recommend at least settle suitable dowels, this should be able to expect at this price and is determined not break their budget.
