BENEFITS:
- The sleep coach brings - if children accept him - more sleep for the parents; when Sam opens his eyes, I must get up and wake Mama / Papa ... of course, must not be said that there remain lying so long do; the child shall retain the feeling that at any time the parents may in principle.
- The design is really cute and the kids can see, thanks to the wide-eyed from afar, whether asleep or awake is Sam
- The display is pretty evenly lit and well suited as a night light, it can be adjusted in multiple brightness levels and may also as desired for a particular time out, by pressing a button it goes back to shortly
- A battery powered (4 x AA) is possible - but here is recommended by the manufacturer, do not use the permanent night light, because the battery then stops just a few days
NEUTRAL:
- Operation is via an external power supply (white cable, just 1.5m long, white power supply with Euro plug) - thus what can be a disadvantage nor an electrical line more in the children ....
- Sam closes and opens the eyes bltziartig with a relatively loud "click"; So no slow closing / opening, as one might expect it and it would be nice .. That might scare some children, our child finds ok; our son "fumbles" in the eyes of the sheep often, the mechanism has not been hurt, so we take the "clack" in buying
NEGATIVE:
- Negative falls on the really very moderate to poor quality of the speaker; the alarm sounds themselves are ok (Schafgeblöcke, birds chirping, beeping alarm clock), but sound krächtzend the louder you set the alarm. In the lowest volume this falls on not so, the loudest volume is not to endure in this quality. Who, for example, "time Stop" books knows from Carlsenverag for 9,99 EUR, who knows what you can "Snatching" of a small and cheap speakers ..;) So here patzt Sam in the core functions of an alarm clock. Since we >> alarm without Weckton- negative is very dependent on the viewing angle readability of the display, from the right, it can be seen very well, seen from the left, can be seen on the clock nothing.
- The pity is that Sam does not automatically closes her eyes at a specific time; you have to activate the alarm clock every night and filters (which fortunately is easily and quickly), Sam then closes with the confirmation of the alarm immediately the eyes and the display then switches to night mode (dark blue). Why the display when you activate within 5 seconds until dark, then bright again before entering the preset brightness "falls back", has not been revealed to me and I feel as disturbing; if this is to simulate a sunset + moonrise, then that's too fast and "hectic".
- Sam is pretty clunky and takes a lot of space in the luggage
- The demo mode is good to explain the function of children, but the demo runs much too fast, you should never be to the Explain
All in all, Sam is still a help and with overwhelming advantages for us. Overall recommendation with above limitations.
Side note: This product is made in China, the production company from the Netherlands; Instructions in German is; on the manufacturer's website there is a video tutorial for Sam
