We have bought Lego Racer 8183 for our son to 5th birthday. He is not only a total Lego fan, but finds all these things great engine. Because he is so young, it was clear to us that Lego technique would be much too heavy for him. That's why we came to this Racer. The engine is easy 'projects' installed in others. He must just build a car umherum and losgehts! He can also control it yet, is just great. Admittedly, the controller will be learned from a 5-year-old, but he can easily forward and go jerk downward let -What is for him the totally hammer :) The remote control is nicely done. There is a lever for the forward and jerk Windwärts movements and next (on the side) a mini steering wheel left and right. Small and händlich for smaller hands. Unfortunately, the wheel falls off easily - we look at how long it will be lost before the. And the car also flies a little apart at every crash - which firstly gives a great effect (my son finds it funny) and there is no problem ... Lego actual except that one has to look for the parts back and count. All are driven by batteries (AAA and AA). The car itself is turned on and off via a switch (under the car). The remote control is always on. The car has been running for 2 weeks and we would not replace the batteries (but he drives also not hours so)
As I said - we thought it was good that he can easily install the motor in his own creations. Now tousle the verrücktigsten vehicles through the area. And that with a 5 year old! He's very proud of himself and has a lot of fun! (Even our 13-year-old finds it 'cool' and therefore turns around)
Conclusion: Great idea of Lego! Easy for children to install in other creations. Fun ... Easy to handle ... What more could you want?
