We were in London at the concert live performances and for that reason alone was both this CD and the DVD of the concert a must-have. And indeed: on this CD comes across a little bit of the great live atmosphere, there are no cut (or a few) passages. But the technology ... - in Ersen moment I thought my stereo system is broken. Apparently the reception was massively retouched afterwards. You can hear quite clearly in some places that there someone overdid did. This ranges from clearly audible increase the volume on frequency filtering, in which the music clearly audible frequency spectrum is missing up to the "Mono effect": There are passages where the surround impression is lost completely - eg "Anthem" or in the otherwise beautiful "Someone Else's Story". Mostly the singer-Partenkirchen was also in quiet passages "made a loud" naträglich so eg Marti Pellow not absäuft in Orcherster. Unfortunately, the transitions in these wrap-ups are sometimes audible. OK, enough grumbling about the technique: In the DVD release, the soundtrack is by the way of better quality! A few more words about the concert itself. I am caught up something because I was in London in yourself. Nevertheless, one must have a sensationally good Adam Pascal, a grandiose Kerry Ellis and of course worthy Josh Groban - who really much, made much of her role. Somewhat less well I like Idina Menzel, who unfortunately passages as pretty quäkig sounds and clearly remains in the vocal clarity and variation mE behind Kerry Ellis. Too bad, this they can do better. Well, maybe I'm wrong, too - and my system is really broken :-) My advice: If you want to have this CD as a fan-articles, which they bought anyway. Who is only interested in the music, might have a different Chess Recording better served if ... yes if Kerry Ellis would not: your rendition of "Someone Else's Story" is worth listening to. Who then so will have this recording, is the DVD version probably better off than with the CD. Provided, of course, you have the DVD player connected to its system and not only to an old television :-) So Prizipiell very good concert, because of technical defects on the CD but not more than 3 stars in it. Have Fun!
