I own the Olympus PEN E-PL1, with which I am very satisfied. The image quality is absolutely top itself with the 14-42mm kit lens. However, lately I bugged the constant manual out and in driving this "trunk lens" and wished secretly a Pancake with 12 or 14 mm focal length. This focal length, there has been neither of Olympus still Panasonic offer. As the 14 mm pancake Panasonic came out, I read on the Internet first a not so good review bezügl. Vignetting and edge blur, but that did not stop me, me to buy this lens on Amazon. I have extensively tested the lens in the last 3 weeks and can say the following 14-42mm compared to M.Zuiko to:
- It is still sharper than the M.Zuiko 14-42mm - It focuses much more quickly - The colors of the images captured appear much brighter - No feathering lockable - Visible in my shots no vignetting
I do not regret buying this lens and not hesitate to recommend. By Pancake my PEN has become extremely compact and now even fits in your pocket. Now as the next purchase I plan to purchase the super high-intensity Panasonic Pancake 20mm 1.7.
