Pros:
+ Fixed focal length typically excellent image quality
Even at full aperture F1.4 lens provides the image center tack-sharp results. The game with focus and blur can practice so excellent. With the versatile "standard lens" of converted (Fujifilm Crop Sensor: focal length x 1.5) 52.5 mm mm film equivalent to portraits can also be realized as street photography. A real all-rounder - even without Zoom! In addition, the fixed focal length provides for me the advantage that you have to think more closely about the image composition. No simple-around back in. Here's footwork asked.
+ Workmanship
The Fujinon 35mm feels very high quality in hand - material appearance: First class. There can be no Plastikbomber a la Canon 50mm 1.4 keep up! The focus ring is running smooth as silk and the aperture ring clicks well noticeable, yet quiet as a high-quality safe! Here each aperture setting makes even more fun! Due to the high-quality workmanship and excellent materials, the lens is 187g but not a lightweight in its class.
+ Luminous intensity
The output aperture f 1.4 enables shooting with very shallow level, so you can freely make objects super from the background. In addition, the lens delivers a premium, soft bokeh (term for the quality of the non-focused objects)!
+ Stable, quality OVP
Rather unimportant, but the lens is in a very noble packaging with sufficient protective padding therefore. In addition, an original lens pouch is included. Top!
Neutral:
+/- Gegenlichtblende
Firstly, it is already included (in my opinion, should be understood. However, you might be inspired toward Canon [at least in the direction of the non-L lenses], so it is now unfortunately not more!). Secondly, I find it also chic and fits optically very well with the old-school look of the Fuji X-Systems. However, this is a matter of taste. I have also a comment like "looks like a flattened soda can" get. In addition, can still be the ansetzten "normal" lens cap with fumbling with an attached Geli. For the lens hood therefore a further cover is included. No question: This solution works, but in my opinion, could be better solved.
Negatives:
- Pretty lame autofocus
The autofocus of the lens is truly no rocket. When focusing is often "pumped in" what takes a long time. For fast-moving subjects (z. B. Sport) is 35mm therefore only suitable limited!
- Lens moves when focusing
When "pumping" of the lens (ie in and out to focus in order to find the point of focus) moves the front part of the lens (moves out slightly and then back on) with. This produces the disadvantage that the objective should not be turned upside down or even met, because it can lead to damage of the inner focus system otherwise. Since the lens hood is attached to the moving part of the objective, unfortunately, also offers them no protection here.
Conclusion:
The Fujifilm Fujinon 35mm 1.4R is my current favorite lens at the Fuji X-E1. While this may largely be due to that I like very much the focal length of approximately 50mm miniature equivalent, but the Fuji does in virtually all respects, a very good figure. The image quality is excellent, with the light intensity can be wonderfully experiment photographically and feel the lens is a treat! A pleasure, the Fujifilm with currently 580.00 EUR (as at 01/2014) can also be paid appropriately. But the emphasis here is on "reasonable": for me it's 35mm 1.4 the price definitely value! In sum, the listed negative points from me cause 1 star deduction. Why just one if I have yet enumerated 2 negative points? Simply because this class lens 3/5 stars would not do justice to. It may not be perfect, but in the most important points (image quality, light intensity and feel) there is no nakedness! Who fixed focal length for its Fujifilm is looking for a high-intensity (standard) X-System, this lens should definitely try!
