All in all, the phone really great.
The display is immediately convincing both in terms of color, brightness and contrast, as well as from the touch feeling. The fact that many people here complain about non-controllable scroll lists I can not understand. (The strenght is to be found in serenity !?)
And also with attached (and I would recommend to anyone!) Screen protector (anti-reflective, and look here), the display is well operated and readable.
The battery is absolutely amazing - even after the first charge cycle (ie unconditioned) he has held over 10 days - despite 2-4 SMS per day and every day 2 about 15 minutes of talk time. Meanwhile and with conditioned battery (yes - even modern batteries unfold only after 2-3 charging cycles at full capacity!) Creates the mobile good 14 days despite regular use.
The voice quality is fine. Virtually no noise, but somewhat dull compared to Sony Ericsson.
BUT:
The user interface is Samsung typical - unfortunately. Here I had hoped for something more. Samsung is apparently still the first choice when it comes to illogical menu structure and faulty and carelessly programmed software. Many things are by the idea really good, but in the implementation then absolutely deficient. For example, the widgets. Why is the entire widget configuration reset (position on the desktop, order, etc.) if I remove a widget from the Widget Bar or Incremental? The widgets themselves are often very faulty, eg. As the Birthday Widget. Real good idea that I can let me show my contacts birthdays on the desktop and right a call or SMS can start on the birthday child from widget from. Unfortunately, the widget does not switch to the next birthday boy once a birthday has expired. So I would still a birthday from 05:02. Page Delicious. The only solution here off and on the phone or move the widget to another desktop.
And otherwise, the phone has a - also almost Samsung Typical - life of its own. Completely independent of restarts (my phone is switched on 24/7) simply put some settings .. so start now and then the calendar week with Sunday as already set several times Monday.
Unfortunately, Samsung also has the possibility of official firmware updates (as for example in Sony Ericsson via the official software is possible.) Omitted - for such a successful product could also expect a little more support.
Last but not least:
The Samsung PC software is the absolute horror - you may be lucky if you get them installed and I use it just to back up my contacts and down- or uploading photos. Unfortunately, there are no real alternatives.
My Conclusion:
For me it will probably remain just a transitional phone until the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini comes out - on the I disregard it since the announcement.
